April showers, sure, but there’s more to worry about than rain in this month’s roller derby games. First up- sea beasts fight interstellar travelers. Next, Atlanta divides itself into Team Red and Team White in this most autocannibalistic of mashups. It’s a disaster in action, and you won’t want to be anywhere this Saturday besides the Yaarab Shrine Center at 400 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Atlanta.

Rays vs Demons
 

The seas are bubbling, nearly boiling, as a mass of teeth and tentacles ascends from deep waters. Is this our doom? Or do these Demons seek a different quarry? Just as we begin to worry, the sky lights up with streaks of golden energy, a rain of light that overwhelms our petty human senses. They descend- a savior? Or a separate monster? Sea meets sky in perfect calamity as the Glamma Rays take on the Demons in our first game of the night. The opponents are otherworldly and we, mere mortals, have this chance to watch them slay.

Red vs Blue
 

Red is blood, full of iron, feeding every twist and surrounding every breath. Red is heat, action, impulse.
 

Blue is water under the sky, pure and eternal, true liquid crystal. Blue is the power of the waves.
 

In this annual tradition, our A and B level travel teams melt together and split apart into Team Red and Team Blue. You’ll see the hardest hits and the smartest strategy Atlanta has to offer. Don’t miss your chance to see our body reassemble.

Between the external horrors and the internal strife, you can be sure that April’s Roller Derby games are not to be missed. We put the best on the track and treats all around it. Food trucks and vendors keep your stomach intrigued and your mind full. Our halftime band Tears for the Dying includes our very own ARD alumna Cancer Candy and ARD rec league skater Formaldebride. Come for the thrills and stay because you’re glued to your seats. Doors open at 4.
