Opportunities

Prospective PhD Preview (P3) at Princeton University
The Prospective PhD Preview (P3) at Princeton University is an amazing program that bring students from historically underrepresented groups (HUGS) to Princeton’s campus during fall to learn about graduate education. P3 provide all travel, lodging and meals. The application can be found HERE and more information about the program can be found on our website HERE.

The program will be held October 3-4, 2019.
 
The P3 program will include:
•    Intercations with the current graduate students from various divisions.
•    Opportunities to engage with Prinecton faculty
•    Graduate admissions and funding workshops
•    Tour of Princeton campus and Graduate student housing
•    Travel, meal, and lodging cost will be covered
Please complete the online application by the priority deadline of May 15th, 2019, 11:59pm EST, at which time all application materials must be uploaded. Decisions on priority deadline applicants will be made available on or before June 12th. Applications submitted after the priority deadline will be reviewed on a rolling basis as long as space is available.

 
NMSU New School Psychology PhD Program Accepting Applications 
The Counseling and Educational Psychology Department is excited to announce the opening of the application period for its newest doctoral program. The PhD program in School Psychology builds on the nationally accredited specialist school psychology program and are the only school psychology programs offered in New Mexico. The program prepares school psychologists as scientists, practitioners and advocates for mental health and social justice in health service psychology settings, including public schools. Prospective students should apply to the Graduate School at http://gradadmissions.nmsu.edu/. Applicants will need to submit official GRE scores, transcripts of all universities attended, professional statement, and three current letters of recommendation, resume or curriculum vita, and any relevant research papers. Review of applications will begin April 15. The inaugural cohort will begin with the 2019-2020 academic year. ACJC is the judicial branch of the Student's Association Government: we help SA --and all groups under it-- function within its guidelines and governing documents. We also serve as student representatives in the Board of Academic Honesty and in administrative committees related to conduct. Through meeting faculty, staff, and administrators, you can have a large impact on campus culture, climate, and policy.

2019 STATION1 FRONTIERS FELLOWSHIP
We invite you to apply to the summer 2019 Station1 Frontiers Fellowship Program
– a unique and exciting residential science and technology educational, research,
and internship program with a focus on societal perspective, social innovation
and impact. Station1 Fellows will come from near and far to live, work, and learn
together throughout the summer for ten weeks in the Greater Boston region of
Massachusetts.

Kearns Scholar Attends Harvard Conference, Wins Impact Challenge
Kearns Scholar John Cole (T5 Class of 2020) was accepted to the Harvard Project for Asian and International Relations (HPAIR) conference in Boston. The four day conference took place in mid-February, and Cole was selected as one of 30 HPAIR Scholars among the 300 delegates for this competitive conference. To offset the remaining costs of attendance, he received supplemental funding from the Kearns Center. While at the conference attending the Social Policy & Justice track, Cole competed with a team of 3 other delegates in the Humanitarian Policy Impact Challenge, and won!

Invitation for students to apply to Syracuse University Sociology PhD
Students and McNair Scholars can apply to our PhD program in Sociology. Syracuse University’s Department of Sociology is part of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, a unique interdisciplinary school of social sciences. Our program offers graduate students four years of funding, annual travel funding, and many opportunities for research, teaching, and professional development. In an effort to recruit and support a diverse graduate student body, Syracuse University waives the application fee for all McNair Scholars.

Kaplan Auction
The Kaplan auction is live! It closes on April 5th at 11:55pm. Do you plan on taking a standardized exam before applying to graduate or professional school? The BCS/NSC Council is auctioning off a Kaplan course that can be used for test prep for the MCAT, GRE, LSAT, PCAT, and more. This can usually cost upwards of $2500!
