Important Weekend Events

Friday, April 12 & Saturday, April 13

Good morning Saturday DFM friends! We are SO EXCITED for our May 4 opening day. We know you probably can't wait to get out, about and into the environmental spirit, so we thought it would be nice to let you know about some great events coming up this weekend. We can't wait to see you at them.

Celebrate Earth Month and Learn About Solar Energy

Delmar Farmers Market customers and friends are invited to join Assemblywoman Pat Fahy and Bethlehem Town Supervisor David VanLuven at our Solar Energy Special at 5:30 p.m. to
7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12 at the beautiful Roux restaurant in Slingerlands.

Enjoy complimentary fine food and drinks while seeing how easy it is to get solar energy now-- no investment needed and with a 10% discount on your electric bill. Whether you own a home or rent an apartment, whether you live in a sunny spot of a shady spot. This is a great opportunity to fight global warming.

Save money and save the planet

Each household that signs up for solar energy reduces their carbon footprint by 5,000 pounds per year and saves ten percent on their electric bill. The electricity you will get is produced at solar farms in the Capital Region. Earth Month is the perfect time to reduce your carbon footprint while enjoying complimentary fine food and beverages and the company of others committed to protecting our planet.

The event is brought to you by Common Energy, the largest provider of community solar energy in New York State, News from the Neighborhood, an on-line newsletter serving over 1,600 environmental activists in the Capital Region, and the Delmar Farmer’s Market.

Bring your family and friends.

2019 Spring Recycle Fest

Once again, the Bethlehem Central School District Green Team will co-sponsor a community-wide recycling event at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 13 at the Elm Avenue Park. The event is open to all area residents. Textile and book recycling is free. Free shredding is limited to Town of Bethlehem residents and BCSD taxpayers only. Electronics, appliances and scrap metals recycling is $5 donation to the BCHS Environmental Club; $15 additional cost per TV or computer monitor.

The Delmar Farmers Market is a premier Capital District farmers market just 5 minutes from Albany at the Bethlehem Central Middle School, 332 Kenwood Avenue, Delmar, New York. Open Saturdays from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, the market features local, organic and natural farm products, baked goods, food concessions, local and fair trade crafts, and music. Our 60 vendors come from within 35 miles of the market.
