The EESSA Inc conference provides an opportunity for educators across all career levels to build their knowledge and skills, and to explore ideas from key advocates in sustainability.

  • Indigenous perspectives on sustainability
  • Pecha Kucha style provocations - why education for sustainability and EfS in practice. 
 Dr Sue Elliott, Senior Lecturer and Course Co-ordinator in Early Childhood Education at the University of New England (UNE). Author of Sustainability and the Early Years Learning Framework and Outdoor learning environments: Spaces for exploration, discovery and risk taking in the early years.
Sophie Thomson, Mother of five and obsessive-compulsive gardener; presenter of ABCs Gardening Australia TV and radio and author of Sophie’s Patch  —living and loving gardening. Join us as we explore: What is Education for Sustainability and why is it important in the early years?

The initial conference will be followed by two smaller events to further grow your knowledge and skills. These sessions will involve a focus on case studies of best practice in embedding sustainability and planning and teaching sustainability. Registering for this event includes all 3 events.  Morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea included.
