By any measurement the 2019 IHE-Europe Connectathon Week has been a huge success. The Connectathon itself has been busy, intense and yet friendly, with vendors of all levels working through solutions to interoperability issues, testing their specifications against IHE Profiles with appropriate deployment scenarios. The Projectathons have been particularly well-supported and the Swiss EPR project again attracted several interested vendors to test their systems against IHE and project-based specifications.

Connectathon Week is also about opportunity and 2019 was no exception with a number of visiting delegations taking advantage of the presence of global eHealth interoperability experts and the IHE community present in one beautiful city – Rennes. These included delegations from Ireland, the Czech Republic - that on Monday was officially admitted to the IHE-Europe family, Saudi Arabia and the European Commission. There were also a number of planning meetings including the IHE Pharmacy Domain Committee and the initial working group of Connectathon 2020!

One of the highlights of Connectathon Week is the annual iconic Monitors photograph. As a collective these volunteers are the lifeblood of the Connectathon, without them there would be no Connectathon! Eric Poiseau, Master of Monitors leads a great team – we salute you ALL.

To all attendees at Connectathon 2019, thanks for coming, safe travels - C U in Brussels, March 23-27 2020.
