"Golden Opportunity" at our May Program Meeting
May 16 11:30 at the Co-op
If we have a quorum at the May meeting, Board members will use this opportunity to share our plans to incorporate.
More than half of North Carolina local boards are already incorporated, as is our own Education Fund, "The Francee Sherman Fund." The primary motivation for incorporation is pretty straightforward: protection from personal liability.
At the April Board meeting, the motion to move forward to incorporate was approved unanimously. The cost to our League will be minimal, and the state process is user friendly.
The attorney we have been consulting with throughout this process recommended that we ask the membership as a whole for its concurrence. The upcoming May meeting is our first general meeting following the Board vote, so if we can, we will use a few minutes of the meeting to take a vote.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at president@lwvhcnc.org, and one of us will get back to you as soon as possible.
Hope you can join us there!
