Missions Leader
What it Means to Have a Bible.
To believers in Middle Eastern, African and Asian countries owning a Bible is either dangerous or difficult. It may be illegal, highly restrictive or completely prohibited. Being caught with even pages from a Bible can cause one to be jailed, sent to concentration camp or executed!
Yet, many believers are so hungry for the Words of God that they risk their lives just to have a Bible! Millions of our persecuted Christian family members still do not have their own Bible, and due to hostile environments or government restrictions cannot access one without help from others within the body of Christ. Bibles must be smuggled into these countries.
Voice of the Martyrs is a missionary organization that diligently works at getting Bibles into these hostile regions. Their goal is for every believer in all places to have access to a copy of Gods Word. This goal is achievable in our lifetime. "No road is too difficult and no risk is to great, when our brothers and sisters are crying out for God's Word".
We in the United States still have so much religious freedom that we take it for granted. We cannot understand not being able to possess a Bible, meet together to pray and worship, or tell others freely about Jesus.
I challenge you to think about what it means to you to have a Bible. Pray for those who are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus.
There is a map on the Missions board in the sanctuary showing the countries with the most persecution. Check it out!
Commission Coffee Corner
Every Sunday, coffee is ready at the Commission Coffee Corner before worship and ABF Classes. Coffee is free, but as you fill your cup, you may notice a jar for donations on the counter. Your donations support a different mission organization each month that is working to bring the good news to all corners of the world.
May & June Commission Coffee Corner donations go to Keokuk Christian Academy

“Therefore be alert and of sober mind so that you may pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:7-8
A few years ago we had a man by the name of Dean Trune come and speak at the church. I’d be lying if I could tell you what the main point of his multiple day seminar was. It was early on in my walk, and my attention span was not, ok, is still not the best. However, there is one thing that stood out that has had a lasting impact on my life. It was a very brief story of how every time he goes out to eat he asks his server if they need prayer. For some reason this seemed exciting to me, to go out and ask people how I could pray for them. I was very naïve and just assumed every single person was just itching for a chance to be prayed for.
The very first person I asked was a lady sitting in a minivan outside a fast-food restaurant. I come along all bright eyed and bushy tailed just smiling ear to ear and ask if she needed prayer for anything. “I don’t need anything from you” she responded through snarled lips. Well, that didn’t go exactly how I had planned. Luckily the Holy Spirit took over and prompted me to ask if she would pray for me. She flat out ignored me, but a lady in the back seat took up my offer and asked me my name. Turns out I had the same name as one of their relatives that was fighting cancer. Instantly we had a connection, and the tense atmosphere shifted. I promised to pray for their Calvin, and they both promised to pray for me.
The same challenge I took from Dean Trune I’d like to extend to you. We are all going through something, in some way. We are all in need of prayer, in some way. One of the most significant ways we can show the love of Christ is to pray for those we come in contact with. They do not need to be our life long friends, they just need to be within earshot. Listen to the prompting of the Holy Spirit and lift up those He puts on your heart the next time you’re out in public. Remember to respect their right to say no, but also remember that you are in need of prayer as well. Let’s lead with love, let’s glorify Christ, let’s lift everyone up to the One who can change it all, Jesus Christ.
Please join us each week for our prayer and worship meeting on Sunday nights from 6pm to 7pm.

Greetings from the Loft!
As I write this, we only have a few session left of Wednesday night Loft before the summer break. God has really blessed us this year with a fantastic group of students. It has been such an honor to walk with them as they grow closer in their relationship with Christ. I'm looking forward to seeing our students continue to confirm their own faith and express it in their day to day lives.
Summer camp is right around the corner, and Lamoine Christian Service camp is the place to be! The camp has a new and improved website you can use to check out the camp schedule, upcoming events, and to register your students. If you register your students before May 26th, you can receive 50% off of your fees! Just use code NTCC1950.
The High Schoolers and I are all signed up for our CIY trip to Johnson City, TN. We are beyond blessed to have Chris Mickelson stepping in as our female sponsor for this trip. Chris has been such a gift to our church and will be a great addition to our crew. Please continue to cover our students in your prayers as we prepare for our upcoming journey. If you have any projects that need to be done, or would like to make a donation towards the trip to help offset the cost, please let me know.
As always we covet your prayers and could not do this without your support. It all comes from God, but He’s put you in the lives of these students to help make things happen. I can’t thank you enough for all you have done and continue to do to help encourage these students in their relationship with Christ.
Your brother in Christ

Keokuk Christian Academy is recruiting for the 2019-20 school year! We are eager to join with families that want to partner with us to provide a wholesome environment that views scripture as the ultimate authority and prepares students for a life of Christian service. We strive to do everything with excellence and seek to equip students with the same academic abilities that they would develop at public schools.
KCA also provides deep discounts for NTCC members, and we love to see our youth grow and thrive. In addition, we have recruitment bonuses for those who bring new families to our ministry. Don’t let finances be a hindrance to what God can do for your family.
Finally, I want to invite all NTCC members to our end-of-the-year celebration! This year is our largest graduating class ever and we will be celebrating our five seniors. The graduation ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 2:00pm. We will also have our regular awards night that focuses on grades K-8 on Thursday, May 23 at 6:30. Come celebrate with us!
