Happy Easter!
Everyday for Lunch, Gwen has a few of the youngest join her for "English Lunch". We eat together and talk about their day and finish the time together with an activity.
This week we have been using the old
 Family Life Resurrection Eggs. 
After we open each egg and talk about the treasure inside, we use it to help tell the wonderful story of  Holy Week, They each then have a chance to retell their favorite part of the story and are rewarded  with a jellybean. It has been such a blessing to watch their excitement with the opening of each egg and proud smiles as they retell the greatest story ever told.
The Residency Process Has Begun!
Jose works with Darren at CAG and part of his job is to help missionaries get through the process of getting Guatemalan residency. This process does not change our citizenship. We are still proud to be Americans. It simply allows us to stay in Guatemala ministry without the interruptions/expense of getting our passports stamped every 90 days. It can be a confusing process and his help has been amazing. Our paperwork has been accepted and is "in process". It could take anywhere from a few weeks to a year. We will need to stay in Guatemala until it is complete or we will have to start the whole process over again.
The Meal Ministry is moving forward. We have been praying for God's direction and have decided to step forward in faith. Rather than trying to fund the ministry independently, we will be using a percentage of our normally budgeted food cost to incorporate the meals that we fix for other missionaries. God has been faithful to provide and we trust Him for moving forward with the ministry that He has given us.
We have so very much to be thankful for and we count you, our financial and prayer partners at the top of the list.
Please pray
  • The only thing constant is change. Both Prince of Peace and Christian Academy of Guatemala will be getting new leadership. Please pray that the transition goes smoothly and ministries will continue as God leads.
  • Praise for healing of Gwen's mom's knee (replacement surgery went well) and the Doctor has officially given her Super-Star status.
  • For our finances. We are currently near 70% funded. God is providing for our basic needs but we still need health insurance, Uncle Sam will want his fair share for our income taxes (estimated between $1500-$2000) and savings for car repairs or doctor visits.
  • For our families at home.
  • Finally a huge Thank You to those of you have shared your prayer calendars and requests privately with us. We really do want this to be a reciprocal relationship. We know that many of you are on your very own mission fields right in your neighborhoods and homes. We want to pray for you too.
