Good Morning,

As parents, we never want our kids to be bored. We try everything to keep them physically and mentally on their toes at all times and would never intentionally want them feeling the anxiety or unhappiness that boredom can bring. And we certainly know how boredom in young kids can sometimes lead to unruliness.

At Rice Psychology Group, we understand that many parents find boredom to be a terrible thing for kids. However, it shouldn’t be. It isn’t so bad for your child to experience boredom every once in a while. In fact, it may actually help him/her/them in the long run!

How though?

Challenging your child to deal with their boredom on their own or with a little help from you can help build their creativity and imagination. It can also help them discover new passions or interests in life. And if you’re there to aid in the process, it can serve as a great bonding opportunity for you both

So, where do you start?

In this week’s blog, “Being Bored: Why it’s a Good Thing for Your Kids,” we’ll detail why letting your kids become bored can be beneficial and how you can give them a little push in the right direction.
