Hello <<First Name>>!

I'm writing to you because you've previously supported UTP with your generous donations for our documentaries One Day For Peace and Bre and Back. Thanks to your support those films enjoyed continued success - reaching over 500,000 people with screenings across Western Sydney, at national film festivals and broadcast on ABC and SBS/NITV.

I’d like to tell you about a new project we’ve been working on this past year, it’s called The Quiet Discomfort. It’s a virtual reality experience (which is a new platform for us) and grapples with the complex social issue of emotional violence towards women and children.

Over the last six-months we’ve been busily testing the prototype of the ‘experience’ with different focus groups, and gathering their thoughts and feedback on the work. We’ve shared it with counsellors, women with lived experience, high school students and friends of UTP to name a few. The responses have been really positive and we’re ready to take the work into full production. That’s where we need your help.

We’re looking to raise a total of $25,000 by Friday 10 May to build the full experience. That's $10,000 via Chuffed and $15,000 via Give Now. And thanks to the Creative Partnerships' Plus 1 initiative, they'll match your donation dollar for dollar.

I’m personally committed to this project and hoping it will open up a broader conversation about the impact emotional violence has on woman and children. And although I’m moving on from UTP, I’m continuing to work on this project as Writer/Director. Alongside me are a wonderful team of artists and collaborators including Volker Kuchelmeister, Bree van Reyk, Tracey Corbin-Matchette, Rebecca Barry, Kate Richards, Bob Scott and of course the incredible Board and staff of UTP.

We all think this is a really important work and whether you can give a small donation (as little as $2 is tax deductible) or something more, we’d love to have your support once again to complete The Quiet Discomfort.

Thanks for your ongoing support of Urban Theatre Projects.

Rosie D.
