Again with the snow??? I'm learning that this is Springtime in the Rockies...Oh well, warmer weather is on it's way...right?? Reminder: our next meeting is May 14th. The meeting will be at the Broomfield Senior Center in the Lakewood 2 room. It starts at 1:30 with the Meet & Greet. The general meeting begins at 2 with the artist demo at 3--May's guest artist will be western contempory artist Don Coen-I promise! We had a last minute switch up last month...
Our 'EVENING BAG' will not be held that evening due to the Mini Show reception at City Hall at 5:00.
Our April Demo Artist was landscape artist extraordinaire Cheryl St. John. Cheryl works in oils and watercolor and paints mostly en plein-air. She shared a few of her favorite things to work with when making her own hardwood canvases. She starts with Birch boards cut to size, takes Claessens double oil primed linen and glues it down very carefully with Miracle Muck adhesive. She also talked about the colors she likes to use--transparent orange, yellow, and red being favorites to mix with darker colors.
