May brings new marvels and the fresh fullness of spring— let’s enjoy every moment together at the shop, for this month will be a short one at Books on B!
So many of you have been regaled with the tales of my life-changing trip to Memphis last year— now, I’ve been offered to attend BookExpo in New York City, the largest convention for bookfolks in the USA, and if I’ve learned anything in this adventure, saying yes leads to the most wonderful life.......
The shop will be closed from Sunday, May 26 to Monday, June 3– and I’ll be back with new tales from the trip of a lifetime!

We’re lucky to have her for another pop-up; looks like her inspiration this season is California Spanish Revival tiles....

Show your support by meeting members of the Bay Area chapter of The Horror Writer’s Association as we celebrate the release of their anthology, Tales for the Camp Firea collective effort of over twenty Northern California authors with the singular focus of raising money for the benefit of 2018’s Camp Fire victims. 
All profits from the book’s sales will be donated to the North Valley Community Foundation.

From the authors: ‘As writers of horror fiction, we feel it’s worthwhile to plumb the darkest depths, and find some release from the pain in our real lives.’

- Little Pea by Amy Krouse Rosenthal follows a little pea who doesn't want to eat his dinner. But what do vegetables have to eat to be healthy?

Hayward author Juan Alvarado Valdivia shares his latest book, Ballad of a Slopsucker, a collection of short stories examining love, family, and masculinity. University of New Mexico Press writes, "These stories offer an important new perspective on the experiences of Latinos and Latinas in the United States and complicate ideas of nationhood, identity, and the definition of home."
 
 
While B Street is closed due to the Latin Jazz Festival, within our walls, we’ll be celebrating too—
