ISSUE NO. 6  |  March 2019

Our First Mission Team!

In March, we had the awesome privilege of hosting our very FIRST MISSION TEAM!!!  It was an amazing time of ministry, work, fellowship and fun.

Meet The Oak Tree Church Mission Team

"I saw that an individual person can create so much change and be changed by letting God work through them," said Jaron, about his time with us in Guatemala.

The team helped us get so much done!  We finished painting a girls room, the dining room, living room and main hallway.  The utility room, pantry and landscaping walls in the front gate area were also finished. Everyone worked so hard that we had to go get more paint because the team finished the rooms we had planned in only two days!  It was such a tremendous help for us!
Even though this trip was about helping us get the ministry house ready to accept girls, we also partnered with our friends at Provee for some orphan ministry and feeding kids at a public school. It was so much fun playing with the kids, everyone had a blast and lives were touched, both the kid's lives and the team members.

Here are a few more comments from the team members:

"really helped me see how good my life is" - Owen

"Helped open my eyes to the need and helped me see areas in which I could help."

"changed hearts of those of us that came" - Wendi

"Gave me a new perspective"

"God brought joy through me to the kids and Rocsana."

It was a truly amazing time.  If you would like to bring a group down to visit us, please reach out, we would love to have you down!

Selvin & Luckyta

It is with great pleasure as we introduce the new house parents for Rocsana's Hope. Selvin and Lucky (Lew'kee) join us with their three daughters, Dulce Jamena (11), Pamela Rocia (8) & Ana Maria (3). The Lord has really blessed us with this great family to help us with our girls! They are leaders in their church and are going to be great leaders in our home.

Welcome to Spanish Class!

Esther and I have started our journey of learning Spanish! Please pray for both of us as it is harder than we thought it would be! Esther is extra motivated and it seems like she has been studying every waking minute!

Praying for Paola

Would you please join us in fervent prayer for our dear Paola? She was suppose to join us as our first girl at Rocsana's Hope but her abusive "boyfriend" has such a psychological hold on her and he refuses to "allow her" to come. Please pray that Paola will see and follow God's direction for her life!

Obedience

This is a word that has become very special to Esther and my walk with the Lord! Obedience to what the Lord wants us to do is the most important thing!

During the month of March and April, Esther and I are praying, saving, selling and raising funds for a vehicle in Guatemala.  Due to safety reasons, it is pretty important for us to have a vehicle instead of walking and using public transportation.  We are praying for a 4x4 diesel SUV as this will be very useful for our ministry.  Many of the areas in Guatemala where we might need to pick up a girl requires a 4x4 vehicle and Diesel is much more efficient here.

If you would like to help us toward the purchase of this vehicle, there are several ways you can give:
  1. Send and make checks payable to Rocsana's Hope, PO Box 2013, Olathe, KS 66051. Please write "Acct 1002 - Vehicle" on the memo of the check.
  2. Give online by visiting our Vehicle Donation Page at McClaran Vehicle Fund.
  3. Give with the Facebook Fundraiser at facebook.com/donate
Thank you so much!  Esther and I would never be able to do this work without the prayer and support from our Ministry Partners.

Follow us, friend us, or whatever the kids say these days...

for day-in-the-life glimpses of missionarying.
