Crafty Community Gathering

Sunday 14 April, from 2:00 pm

An afternoon of craft activities (byoc), craft beer (byo) and a stall selling hand-crafted cakes and other items. Come along to meet with friends and neighbours for a fun autumn afternoon. The cake stall will help to raise funds to go towards our community account. It would be great if you could donate a cake, produce or similar. Looking forward to seeing you there.

Smiths Road s355 Committee Members

News

The Smiths Road s355 Committee is responsible to Council for the upkeep and maintenance of the Smiths Road Community Hall and Fire Shed and surrounding area. The previous committee (John Hayhoe, Jenny Bourne and Peter Henry) have resigned after years of committed service to the community and they are to be commended. As an interim measure and subject to Council approval, several members of the community have agreed to take on these responsibilities. At a future meeting of Smiths Road Landholders’ Group, the community will be asked to agree on the s355 Committee composition (Council guidance on the process is being sought). The newly appointed temporary committee members are: Peter Henry, Sean Sloan, Ros Clark and Dan Sloss.

Cleaner for the Fireshed

Seeking a person to clean the shed. The s355 Committee is seeking expressions of interest from persons who can commit to 4 hours per month to clean the Smiths Road Community Hall and Fire Shed. This would include the kitchen area, the main meeting room, windows, the male and female toilets and the outdoor picnic area at the rear of the shed windows. Hours are flexible. This is intended as a paid position subject to agreement by the Committee in consultation with Council and others. Contact either Peter Henry or Dan Sloss for more information.

Table Tennis @ the Fireshed

Thursdays, 7:30 pm to 8:30 pm

It's time to get fit, meet new neighbours, have some fun and laughs and enjoy yourself. All welcome. You say - you don't know how to play. We'll instruct you the best way we can. For more information, phone Rhonda on 0402 102 267.

Friday Social

Friday 3 May, from 5:30 pm (1st Friday of the month)

Come to the shed Friday from 5:30-7:30 for in informal social gathering with neighbours and friends. BYO everything.

Tuesday 28 May, 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm (4th Tuesday of the month)

Join us for the monthly meeting for the community to get together to discuss issues and events at the Fire Shed.
