No experience is needed - training and mentoring is provided for all positions. We are especially in need of new judges - this is an essential position and it gives you the knowledge to understand and follow climbing better. Follow the link to sign up for a shift!

Coaches heading to Nationals are reminded that a CEC Coach Licence is required to gain access to coach areas.
SCBC is still looking for coaches to join the Provincial Coaching Team heading to Nationals. Please contact secretary@sportclimbingbc.ca if you are interested in being a Team Official or have any questions. Team Officials work with all members of Team BC at National events to ensure all athletes have coaching representation and support. SCBC covers the cost of the CEC Coach Licence for all Officials.
Job Postings are out for Team BC Difficulty & Speed Training Camp
In order to compete at CEC Lead Speed Nationals, taking place at Allez Up in Montréal May 18-20, athletes must qualify for Team BC as follows:
YOUTH
BC can send a quota of 8 athletes per category to Nationals. Athletes must have a Provincial Membership and have competed in at least one sanctioned event in that discipline this season.
-- In Difficulty, selection will be based on rankings calculated with the top 3 locals and provincials. This is the same as the Provincial Ranking that determines the Provincial Series.
-- In Speed, selection will be based on ranking calculated with the top 1 local and provincials due to late announcement of this quota. This is not the same as the Provincial Ranking that determines the Provincial Series.
-- Note that the 8th position is a "wild card" spot that may be used in the event of extenuating circumstances (injury, illness) at the discretion of SCBC.
-- Athletes not meeting the BC qualification as above and wishing to attend Nationals should contact SCBC as extra quota may be available.
-- Athletes not meeting the BC qualification as above and wishing to attend Nationals may also contact the CEC High Performance Director explaining their circumstance and asking for a waiver from the National Championship qualification requirements.
