Hello my friends!

I hope you are all enjoying spring and have adjusted to the time change. For this newsletter, I thought that I would try something different. I am often asked what some of my favorite witnessing tactics are that I have found helpful throughout the years, so I would like to share these with you!

Ministering to members of the LDS Church:

  1. Ask LDS people what their testimony is at the beginning of the conversation. This one is significant because if they ever feel trapped with a different question it will be redundant for them to repeat their testimony.

  2. When talking with LDS missionaries; ask one of them (usually the one that is more talkative or the missionary who has not been on his mission as long) to read a passage from their scripture, a talk given by their leaders, or an LDS book, etc. After the elder or sister reads it; ask the other missionary who is less talkative what their thoughts are on this excerpt.

  3. This one may be obvious and even silly. ☺ You should know the LDS missionaries names. I have unfortunately forgotten their names while talking to them.

Jehovahs Witnesses and Other Belief Systems:

  1. Jehovah’s Witnesses (JW’s) do not study from their scripture, but literature given out by the Watchtower Society. When you study with them try your best, if possible, to read ahead or glance at the material that you will be covering with them so you know how to address their questions.

  2. The first book you will go through with JWs is What Does the Bible Really Teach? A good Christian response to the book can be found here.

  3. Use the word “deity” rather than “divine” when talking about Jesus being God. When other religions hear “divinity” many see Jesus as being special but not necessarily God.

  4. If you want to use sources provided by specific religions on their official websites, try to download the material via kindle, pdf form, etc. before the website takes the material off its websites.

Good News, Missions Update:

I have been talking with an LDS missionary over Facebook Messenger since September 2018. This missionary was vigorously defending the LDS Church. I messaged the missionary later, and the missionary no longer believes in the LDS Church, but still believes in Jesus!

I lent a Bahai member The Forgotten Trinity and Putting Jesus in His Place: The Case for the Deity of Christ . He does not entirely accept the doctrine contained in these books, but he is definitely understanding the concept better!

Trevors Blog:

I never thought that I would start a blog, but many people want to learn about the religions that I witness to and study about. It is still in the development process, so please send me any suggestions on what you would like to see! It will likely be a combination of articles and videos. My blog can be found here.

P.S. I am still in need of money in order for me to go to Utah this summer.
