WHAT'S UP

It's good to have finishes to share! The first, Nine of Ten, was begun in a Planned and Unplanned class with Melanie Tuazon at QuiltCon. I very nearly tossed the blocks I'd brought home with me, but luckily decided to give them a chance, and whipped up this little piece in a bit of a creative fury.

And then Rework was the result of some triangle blocks I actually made back in January! I had high hopes, but then totally lost all love for them. The blocks were about to be discarded when it came to me that I should slice them up and see what happened. Kinda weird that both of these projects were a disappointment for a time, then turned around to become finishes I was really happy with. Rethinking a project often brings new (and better!) results. Note to self!

WORTH A READ

ROUND-UP

Folks seem to be really upping their game when it comes to their quilt photography, and I for one, love it! I'll let these beauties speak for themselves. Enjoy!

ON TREND

Do you use ASMR? I'm often oblivious of trends, but Abby Glassenberg clued me in. Apparently ASMR Videos are the biggest YouTube Trend You've Never Heard Of. Abby has thoughts about How Your Craft Business Can Make the Most of the ASMR Trend, including several video examples.

OFF TOPIC

I invited more color into my studio recently with these two volumes: The Designer's Dictionary of Color by Sean Adams and The Secret Lives of Color by Kassia St. Clair. Check out my Color Books post for more info and links about them both.

GOTTA LOVE IT!

I do love a scrap quilt! AND a value quilt. In All the Rectangles, Erica of Kitchen Table Quilting hit exactly the right note with both.

P.S. Thanks to Abby Glassenberg [again], this time for sharing a link to "How to Market Yourself Without Marketing Yourself" in her latest newsletter. A list written by Josh Spector, it rings as true for me as anything I've read about putting yourself out there.
