From the Nurse

Happy April! As many of you may have already heard, I am leaving as of April 12th. I have been offered the opportunity to return to Emergency Critical Care nursing, as well as doing some teaching. This is an exciting opportunity for me and my family, but it is also a sad time as I leave Trumansburg middle school and the students and staff that I have gotten to know over the course of the last 30 weeks. Thank you for allowing me to get to know your child, and to care for them as they were my own during my time here. Trumansburg truly is a fantastic community, and you all have something to be proud of!

As I wind down my last week, I will be finishing up the required health screenings and getting that information recorded in our system as well as mailed to you, if applicable. I will also be working closely with Bethany Ladd, RN in the Elementary School and Katy Iacovelli, RN in the High School to ensure a smooth transition until a replacement is found. We are hopeful that a suitable replacement can be found soon. If you are aware of any Registered Nurses who are potentially interested in working for the school district please have them go to the school website for more information.

Once again, Thank You for allowing me to care for your children, I have truly enjoyed getting to know them!!

Sixth Grade

On Friday, April 12th, sixth graders have a lot going on. They will host a Medieval Festival from 8:15-9:00. During the festival they will showcase the projects they have created to show off their new knowledge of medieval times. Students are encouraged to dress in medieval clothing if they would like for the festival. After the festival we will be going to Corning Museum of Glass to study ancient artifacts. Please remember to send them with a lunch if they haven’t ordered one from the cafeteria. Also, they are allowed to bring $5 if they would like to make a small purchase from the gift shop. It will be a busy and fun day for sixth grade students and teachers.

Eighth Grade

Students are finishing up their argument essays, which are due Wednesday, April 10.

Please replenish your student’s pencil supply. Thank you.
