These Golden Days

My daffodils are looking to start blooming in the next few days and my weekend plans include yard work, yes, spring is here with longer and brighter days and I couldn't be more ready for them.

Now seems the perfect time to launch the first piece of my Golden State collection, the marvelously orange embroidery design seen above. Inspired by my John Muir and the landscape of my home state, "All That is Beautiful" is available as a complete kit, pre-printed panel, or PDF pattern and, for this weekend only, everything in the shop comes with free domestic shipping - just use the code POPPIES before midnight EST tonight (MONDAY).

You can learn more about the origins of this design, the Golden State Collection, and why I've been a little quiet of late on the blog

MOXIE Pattern Release

Originally created for Taproot Magazine, the Moxie Shawl is now available as an individual PDF pattern.  Garter stitch and the single color per row mosaic colorwork keep the knitting simple and play up the texture of a linen-cotton blend yarn. The smaller kerchief is a great introduction to the mosaic knitting technique, while the finished shawl is big enough to keep ocean breezes at bay, make a handy sarong, and even be used as towel in a pinch!

You can pick up your copy at MsCleaver.com or on Ravelry

Egg Gatherer Restock

Just in time for Easter, I've restocked one of my post popular embroidery designs - the Egg Gatherer. This complete kit includes your choice of three skirt colors and comes with a range of skin tones to personalize!

Just the thing for a grown-up Easter basket, don't you think?

Ram's Head Pillow

Love sheep? It's hard not to! The pattern for this cushion inspired by all thing sheepy can be found in the Revive issue of Taproot magazine! Not a knitter or uncomfortable with colorwork? The pattern can also be used as a template for a cross stitch or needlework project!

A Springy Cocktail

To keep to theme, this should really include some orange, but I don't have any orange-based recipes in the archive! (Note to Self - Remedy this!) Instead, check out this grapefruit-based cocktail inspired by the garden I'll be busy cleaning up this weekend!

Sneak Peek

We started with something sunny, let's end there too - next up in my design queue is this sunny yellow cardigan. I'm working it up in the contiguous method, which looks like a set-in sleeve, but is knit in the round - best of both worlds!

Watch this space as I get designing or as always, you can also see more behind the scenes photos on Instagram.
