We appreciate every parent that chooses to be a part of our NCA Community, and we want to express our gratitude. So please join us at the primary campus on the corner of Glenwood and Thome during morning drop-off time for a free donut and cup of coffee from Helix Cafe! All of our tasty treats are for PARENTS ONLY, and they'll be given on a first come, first served basis.

We will have herbal tea for our non-coffee drinkers. We will also be handing out our new Proud NCA Supporter yard signs to kick-off our Proud NCA Supporter Facebook Challenge where your family could win a $50 Target gift card. The yard signs will also be distributed on the same day at the middle school campus during drop-off. We will be having a similar NCA Parent Appreciation event at the middle school campus during drop-off in May. The Facebook challenge guidelines are below.

Please see attachment for more details.
The deadline for consideration of the Guardian Angel Fund is May 1, 2019

Greetings NCA Community!

Your Parish School, Northside Catholic Academy, is kicking off its School Board Membership identification process for the 2019/2020 school year. The Board of Specified Jurisdiction is looking for candidates from our broad community which includes Parishioners, alumni/ae and parents of alumni/ae, leaders within the community (including business, education and other leaders), and parents.

One common myth is that you need to be a parent of a student to be on the school board. That is not the case and in fact, the Board needs a number of “independent” school board members to operate effectively.

While the board needs many different perspectives, we are especially in need of the following areas of insight:

* Facilities management

* Architecture and Construction

* Higher education

* Marketing and Admissions

Please consider if you or someone you know could bring a valuable perspective to our school board and reach out to Brian Pavona (brian.james.pavona@gmail.com) & Sarah Millar (sbm618@gmail.com) if you would like more information.

Thank you for your support!

⛪️💙Our 5th-grade students and teachers led a very meaningful Stations of the Cross today reminding us to look into our hearts and connect to Jesus.
💃🏽Congratulations to our NCA Dance-off competitors! Everyone did a great job, and we brought home a trophy for “Superstar Award - Outstanding Presentation.”

🦁🐑Our kindergarten students are making the lion and lamb faces for their March Comes In Like A Lion project.

We can’t wait to show you the finished product!

🐇Room 1 preschool students prepare for Easter!

💙⛪️Room 2, half-day preschool class hosted a Lenten Simple Super last Wednesday! A big thank you to everyone who attended!

Athletic News

NCA Fall Sports Registration is Now Open
Don’t delay, register now on SchoolSpeak for Boys and Girls Soccer, Cross Country, and Girls Volleyball. Fall sports run roughly from the end of August until the end of October.

Boys and Girls Soccer: NCA’s soccer program is open to boys and girls in grades 5-8. All students must be registered on SchoolSpeak prior to Tuesday, June 4, 2019. The registration fee is $100 per student and includes your student’s uniform. Our soccer league finalizes all schedules and games during the summer months so we need to have our final rosters to the league by June 4. Grades 5-6 will play on the JV team, and grades 7-8 will play on the Varsity team. Teams will be determined and uniforms will be ordered based on registration numbers.

Cross Country: Open to all NCA boys and girls in grades 5-8. All students must be registered on SchoolSpeak prior to Monday, July 15, 2019. The registration fee is $100 per student and includes your student’s uniform. Official practices begin late July/early August.  Mandatory time trials are August 20 and August 22,
6:00pm, at the lakefront track on the Wilson side. Athletes and one parent/guardian must attend one of these time trials. While the athletes complete their time trials, coaches will meet with the parents to discuss the season, practices, and meets. Time trials will place your athlete in the appropriate pace group for the season. Once school begins, practices will be held Monday-Thursday after school (at the MS campus). Athletes are required to attend at least two practices per week in order to participate in the meets. We anticipate six meets this season; athletes are required to attend four meets.

Girls Volleyball: Grades 4-8. All students must be registered on SchoolSpeak prior to Monday, July 15, 2019. The registration fee is $100 per student and includes your student’s uniform. Teams will be determined and uniforms will be ordered based on registration numbers. For safety reasons, all players in uniform are not allowed to wear jewelry of any kind while in a game or on the bench. This is a mandatory rule that will be enforced by the officials. Anyone with newly pierced ears who cannot remove their earrings will not be allowed to participate.

Late Registrations: $50 additional fee for late registrations. Late registrations are allowed at the coaches’ discretion.

Coaches: You must register your child via SchoolSpeak for soccer, cross country, and volleyball by the deadline. Follow the prompts to complete all of the required information, but please do not pay for your child. We appreciate your huge time commitment coaching all of our children.

Financial Assistance: We never want any child to not join a team because of the cost. If you need a reduction in fees, please contact Leigh Holzman at 773-743-6277.
