This week, I’m taking you on a quick trip back to April 2015 to the day I had the privilege of being a guest Chef Instructor at the Notre Dame Culinary Center in Jerusalem.

I spent the day teaching a workshop on how to make lavender strawberry shortcake and fish en papillote. We whisked, sliced, seasoned and plated our way through a wonderful day in the heart of Jerusalem.

Chef Nabil, the lead chef instructor is a gracious person, dedicated to improving the quality of life for his students through a career in hospitality and culinary arts. He is also part of an incredible organization called, Chefs-4-Peace where chefs from the three main monotheistic faiths, Jewish, Christian and Muslim come together over food to build bridges of peace. They host classes, workshops and food related activities.

A refreshing reality of people with good hearts who are working to repair the world.

Food, good hearts, working together despite our differences = unity….this is the secret sauce to a better future. May unity increase in our day and time!

If you’re ever in Jerusalem, I highly recommend a visit to the Rooftop Wine & Cheese restaurant at the Notre Dame Center. The food is delish and the views of the old city are AHMMMAAZZZING!

Blessings of life and unity to you!
