Padme's Success Story -
Thanks to You!

                BEFORE                          AFTER
When Padme came to Tabby Tales at around 6 months old, she was shy and scared and so underweight that at first it was thought that she may have been only 3 months. She slowly became more comfortable with her foster family, and grew into quite the cuddler. Unfortunately, shortly after coming into the rescue, sweet Padme became very ill. She went to the vet and needed to start treatment immediately for an infection. She had very low potassium levels and was put on antibiotics. After a couple of days, she had stopped eating again and was very weak, with a fever of 105. She had an ultrasound, multiple potassium infusions, and spent a total of 4 days hospitalized on fluids and antibiotics. Though the tests were not conclusive of the cause of her illness, Padme is doing much better and is back in her foster home. Her foster mom continued to give her a potassium supplements as well as probiotics for awhile, but Padme's most recent bloodwork looks so good she doesn't even have to take her supplements anymore! Padme is ready for adoption in a quiet home, possibly with a kitty friend. We are all so grateful for all of your support!
Tabby Tales is in need of ongoing support for some of our very special kitties with unique medical needs. Please consider making a one-time donation or monthly sponsorship to help us continue our life-saving mission!

Transports Save Lives!

You may hear of rescues lamenting about "kitten season" when, in the spring, they are overrun with stray kittens and pregnant mothers. While, to a certain extent, this happens everywhere, it is much worse in warmer climates like Savannah where kitten season can potentially last all year long, rather than just a couple of months. In cooler climates, shelters and rescues tend to have less cats and kittens to adopt out, so it can frequently be beneficial for Tabby Tales to transport kitties up north where they will be more likely to find their forever homes - it is a simple matter of supply and demand.  In January 2019, Tabby Tales completed our first private transport to a receiving shelter in New Hampshire and happily all 16 were quickly adopted!

COMING SOON!

MOBILE SPAY and NEUTER UNIT

We are excited to announce that through the fundraising efforts of Marie Rodriguez and the generous donation of Dr. Lester, we will soon have our very own mobile spay and neuter unit up and running!
Once in operation, our first line of business will be to help cats and their people in underserved communities who may not be able to afford surgery or have transportation to another low cost clinic.
If you would like to help us fix more kitties by sponsoring a spay/neuter, please donate via our website!
Please stay tuned on more information as this dream becomes a reality!

Success Story
FIV+ Veranda has been adopted!

FIV is often misunderstood as a death sentence, making these kitties more unlikely to get adopted. However, more often than not they can live full, happy lives if they are indoor cats! Veranda's new mom and dad drove all the way from Amelia Island, FL to adopt this sweet girl!
