Pi Workshop Powers the Potential of 100 Students and 7 Teachers

This quarter, the Potential Enhancement Foundation (PEF), PPI’s Tanzanian sister organization, completed a Raspberry Pi training program for over 100 students and 7 teachers from schools in the Karatu and Bunda districts.

“The training was very effective and useful to empower students and teachers on technology and the proper utilization of the computer labs. Through this training, we enlightened students to their potential in technology. We witnessed how capable they are to learn and practice basic programming,” said Albin Mathias, PEF Executive Director.

“On behalf of the students and teachers of Tanzania, I heartily thank everyone who contributed in one way or another for the cause. Special thanks to the PPI team for their support,” said Denis Christopher, PEF Technical Manager.

It Is With Deep Sadness That We Announce The Passing of Milton Finger

Photo of Milt during his visit to the Banjika School in 2012

Milt traveled to Tanzania with our founder, Janice Lathen, in 2012 on behalf of the Livermore, CA Rotary Club and afterward became a passionate advocate for Powering Potential. He served as the first Chair of the Board and helped establish a solid foundation for the organization.

Milt served with distinction as deputy director at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. He was a true gentleman and friend and holds a precious place in our hearts. We will miss him dearly.
