Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On October 17-18 of this year, at the AT&T Executive Education and Conference Center in Austin, UT System is joining with IT'S TIME TEXAS to bring you the 2019 Healthier Texas Summit. The Summit is a two-day event for Texas’ thought leaders and health champions from diverse sectors to make connections that will catalyze their work. The only health event of its kind in the state, the Healthier Texas Summit offers informative sessions, town hall conversations and interactive workshops, with education credits available for numerous professions.

If you are interested in presenting at this year's Summit, all applications must be submitted by May 10th, 2019. Submit your proposal here.

To break down silos and increase cross-sector collaboration, tracks at the Summit are flexible and cover what we believe to be the most influential forces in community and population health today. They are:
  • Addressing Social Factors for Better Patient Outcomes: Effective Partnerships Between Healthcare and Non-Healthcare Sectors
  • Selling Health: Effective Communication to Drive Change
  • Advancing Health Equity: Strategies for Systemic Change
  • Harnessing Information: Approaches to Sharing and Using Data to Power Cross-Sector Collaboration and Health Improvement
  • Fostering Healthy Places: Cross-Sector Approaches to Improve Health Where Texans Learn, Earn, and Pray
  • Building Healthy Communities: Collective Action to Drive Systemic Change
Last fall's Summit brought together more than 1,300 Texans from around the state to tackle some of our most difficult health challenges. We look forward to an even more dynamic event in October. Please save the date to attend, and consider applying to present.

Sincerely,

David Lakey, MD
