Welcome back from our very summery spring break! Believe it or not, but we only have a half dozen meetings left until the end of the year. However, there is still a lot going on, so keep reading to find out what is coming up.

Next Meeting April 9th

Tomorrow we welcome Eric Kalnins and Karen Basi from the city of Coquitlam. They will be giving us some information on the club’s joint partnership project. There will also be a couple of presentations. Clive will demonstrate how he copies 35 mm slides and Grant will give us some Lightroom tips. In addition, we would love to see what you have been up to. Please bring along two recent images with you on a thumb drive. The subject matter isn’t important, but we would like to see current shots.

Upcoming Club Exec Positions

Our club elections are just around the corner. Don’t miss this great opportunity to get involved. Judy and I will be stepping down from the Co-President positions, so we are looking for two of you to fill our spots! We believe that two Co-Presidents has worked better than a president and vice-president position, as it is much easier to split up tasks. The only requirements of the positions is your enthusiasms for the club. You do not need to be an expert photographer by any means! Feel free to talk to us about the positions if you have any questions.

Meeting Schedule

Meetings are the 2nd and 4th TUESDAYS of the month. We meet in the Drama Room at Port Moody Senior Secondary School, 300 Albert Street, Port Moody, BC. Meetings start at 7:30 PM sharp.

April 9 – Clive will show us how to Copy 35mm Slides and Grant will go In Depth with Lightroom
April 23 – Simplicity-In-Seeing with guest and visual poet, Olaf Sztaba.
May 14 – Astro and Wildlife Photography with guest Christian Sasse

Do you have a friend interested in photography? Invite them to join us for an evening so they can see what we do. We are a very friendly bunch and guests are always welcome!

Port Moody Community Fair

We have applied to the city for a table at the upcoming Community Fair on June 15th. If we are selected to participate, we will need volunteers to help out. Set up is from 8:30-10:30. The table will need to be manned from 11:00-3:00. And, take-down is from 3:00-5:00. The plan is to have a couple of computers running to show some member images, and have volunteers talk a little about what our club is about to anyone who is interested. We will also display the prints selected for the Crescent Beach BW Challenge.
