Our Annual Partners Gathering is just around the corner! We hope you can join us for this important SVP meeting at 5:30 PM on Thursday, April 25th.
There will be a shift from the party atmosphere of recent years, to more of a Partnership business meeting. We will update you on our community impact, strategic direction, and our plans for focusing on excellence in execution, externally and internally, as we pursue our our "Preschool for All" goal.
Note that we have changed the venue to one of our Community Partners, the Immigrant & Refugee Community Organization (IRCO), on NE Glisan and 104th. There will be hors d'oeuvres and libations to enjoy while connecting with your fellow Partners.
Due to the reality that nonprofits are typically relentlessly focused on serving their community, combined with insufficient general operating resources from funders, that they under invest in administrative infrastructure. After completing this workshop, you will be familiar with tools for assessing organizational capacity and be able to design plans to improve it.
People engaged in nonprofit work, whether paid or volunteer, are passionate about their missions and committed to solving social problems; relationships matter more than motivations traditionally associated with business. After completing this workshop, you will understand the factors conducive to building trust, have improved your listening skills, and have tools for improving communications with people working in the nonprofit sector.
Social Venture Partners Portland is comprised of many interesting, entrepreneurial philanthropists. Join us for some snacks and libations as you mix and mingle with some of our current Partners, including our hosts, Alex Nelson of PDX Impact and Nick Wade of CoinOp. Join us to learn more about Alex and Nick, their businesses, and their connection to SVP.
Snacks and libations will be served, compliments of PDX Impact and CoinOp. A 10-minute program featuring Alex, Nick, and SVP will begin at 6:15pm.
Nonprofits increasingly have staff and assist clients from diverse cultures, ethnic and racial backgrounds, and genders. After completing this workshop, you will understand the challenges and strengths that diversity brings to nonprofit operations and be familiar with tools and techniques to incorporate equity concerns and to create an inclusive environment.
