SUNSET JAZZ AT COURT SQUARE!

Relax and unwind THIS SUNDAY during the Sunset Jazz's Memphis Jazz Workshop! The Memphis Jazz Workshop is a non - profit organization that cultivates young musicians by providing learning and performance opportunities. There will be live music and food trucks! This event is free and open to the public!

I LOVE THE 90'S BASh

BEALE STREET. APRIL 13. 3 PM - 11 PM. Alright...stop, collaborate and listen!! The I Love the 90's Bash is coming back to Memphis Saturday April 13th! We're lacing up our high tops, putting on our fanny packs and gettin' jiggy with it to the best music of the 90's!!

2019 BEALE STREET WINE RACE

Watch and root for your favorite restaurants and bartenders as they compete in four events for cash, prizes and glory! Awards for Parade, Queen of the Vine, Grape Stomp and the Great Wince Race! This free, public event is loads of fun (prepare to have purple teeth)!

Downtown Building Renamed After COGIC's Bishop W.L. Porter
The building at 267 S. Main St. was formerly known as the Adler Building. Now, it will be known as “The W.L.,” after the man who purchased it in the early 1980s. Once, the building was the Adler Hotel, later becoming the Adler Apartments. Today, the building has both apartments and offices, including a dentist’s office and a walk-in clinic.

“It’s my opportunity to let the world know how great he was,” said Bishop Brandon Porter, son of the late W.L. Porter. “He was a contributor to business in Memphis, he was an entrepreneur, tremendous business acumen, brought so many things to Memphis.”

Memphis firm Allworld on track for new headquarters

A fast-growing, African-American-owned, technology-based business won a grant Wednesday to help fix up its new headquarters at 60 N. B.B. King in Downtown Memphis.

Allworld Management, owned by cousins Michael Hooks Jr. and Brent Hooks, was approved for an $80,000 exterior improvement grant by the Center City Development Corp., an arm of the Downtown Memphis Commission.​

Phillip Ashley Chocolates opens 'chocolate cafe' Saturday

On Saturday, April 13, Phillip Ashley Rix hosts a grand opening at his new chocolate shop at 1200 Madison Ave., adding another spot to eat along a popular dining destination and filling the gap between the scattering of places around Madison and Cleveland and those in the Edge District.

Join The Metal Museum Sunday, April 14 at 3pm for the opening reception of their Tributaries exhibition and a gallery talk by featured artist Jill Baker Gower. This exhibition will be on display from April 14 to June 30, 2019. The opening reception is free for members and included with the price of admission.

Jill Baker Gower creates jewelry and sculpture informed by her female experience and our consumer culture’s portrayal of women’s needs and desires. While primarily a metalsmith, Jill incorporates other materials such as skin-toned rubber and mirrors to reference the human body, self-examination, and vanity.
