World's Largest Aquaponics Facility Finds Success in Jackson Electric Cooperative's Service Territory
Superior Fresh, with its 3-acre greenhouse, 1-acre fish house and 1,100 LED grow lights, is considered the largest aquaponics system in the world. Located just off I-94 in Northfield, Wis., the facility provides organic salmon and leafy green vegetables to local grocery stores and restaurants. Superior Fresh's operations and expansion plans were recently highlighted in an article by the La Crosse Tribune.
Superior Fresh will be the featured presenter at the upcoming Rise & Shine Sustainability Series presented by the Sustainability Institute at Western Technical College (La Crosse, Wis.).

Andy Albarado, Rusk County Economic Development (center)Jump River Electric Cooperative and Dairyland Power received the Large Business of the Year Award from the Ladysmith Area Chamber of Commerce. The award was presented by the Ladysmith Industrial Development Corporation and Rusk County Economic Development at the Rusk County Community Awards and Recognition Banquet on April 25. Accepting the award were Jump River Electric’s General Manager Jim Anderson and Brad Foss, Dairyland Power’s Manager, Environmental Impact. The award was based on the investments the cooperatives have made in the community, service to area residents and employment opportunities.
Jump River Electric Cooperative serves 8,414 members via 1,759 miles of line in Rusk, Sawyer, Taylor, Chippewa, Barron and Price counties.

Co-ops Partner with Touchstone Energy® on National Campaign Production
Vernon Electric Cooperative (Westby, Wis.) and Riverland Energy Cooperative (Arcadia, Wis.), along with Dairyland Power Cooperative, recently partnered with Touchstone Energy® Cooperatives (Arlington, Va.) and Harvest Creative Services (Lansing, Mich.) to produce Touchstone Energy's next national advertising campaign. The campaign will highlight the cooperative difference and the role cooperatives play in the changing energy landscape. It is expected to be complete later this year and materials will be available for any of Touchstone Energy’s more than 700 members nationwide to customize for their own marketing materials. Working closely with multiple local electric cooperative employees and member, the campaign will tell the story of opportunities that abound in our cooperative service territories.

Up to $2M, 0% Interest
Economic Development Financing Available
Up to $2 million in 0% interest rate financing may be available for your next business or community development project through your local electric cooperative. Funds can be used for business expansion and start-up. Eligible purposes include real estate, buildings (new and existing), machinery and equipment, and/or working capital. Community facilities and infrastructure are also eligible purposes. Loan amounts are determined by overall project scale, local cooperative policies, job creation/retention and other typical loan approval criteria.
