It is a very exciting time in the Early Years world!
A new government focus on improving access, affordability and quality child care, an encompassing Early Years Framework and an acknowledgement that family support is critical to enhancing the outcomes for young children has created a very different early years landscape than we have previously seen.
As part of this changed landscape FRP- BC has entered into an enhanced contract to support the Family Resource Programs across the province to align with the Early Years framework. We are excited at this challenging opportunity.
The Board of Directors thoughtfully reviewed the past and current situation of FRP BC and has come to the conclusion that the most strategic option for the organization at this time is to move the FRP BC Provincial office from Vancouver to Victoria. This move will provide a number of efficiencies and opportunities for the organization itself and its members.
Current staff will remain in place until May 31, 2019. Please continue to communicate with the office as per usual. We anticipate posting and hiring for a new Provincial Director with in the next month. An announcement will be made when a successful candidate is selected. The Provincial Office will be relocated to Victoria before September 2019.
As FRP-BC moves into this exciting new chapter in design and service delivery, we would like to acknowledge the dedication of current staff and the commitment of current and previous Board members. Their efforts have been integral to this organization’s success.
