Global Service Scholars

Learn how this experiential learning program is shaping the next generation's global citizens and compassionate leaders. The 2019 cohort will be preparing to embark on their international immersive service trip to South Africa, Nepal and Paraguay this August.

New Venture Competition Semi-Finalists

Congratulations to the teams that will be moving on to the final round!
 
The Merage School’s Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship recently presented the names of the teams who will compete in the final round of the 2019 New Venture Competition!

These teams will compete for more than $100,000 in awards on May 22nd at The Paul Merage School of Business. The business concepts of the teams selected include an exciting array of concepts that speak to the amazing depth and breadth of talent that is found among the students at UCI. Please join us for the Final Awards Presentation on May 22 from 5:30-9:00pm. 

NVC Workshops will be held every week until then, keep a look out for presentations on how to refine your business plan from NVC judges and various professionals in the field.

DigiFilm Showcase
April 27 at 1:00pm
UCI returns to the Newport Beach Film Festival with 10 compelling student films produced in the Digital Filmmaking program. The collegiate program will showcase short documentaries from two DigiFilm students who travelled with the Global Service Scholars to Nepal and Paraguay.

The Blum Center aims to enable a new generation of students and researchers to ask and address critical questions about development that are key prerequisites to devising effective and innovative approaches to alleviating contemporary poverty both locally and abroad. The Center was launched at UC Irvine as part of a larger consortium of Blum Centers across the University of California campuses.
