Hello to our Bay Area Friends!

We have a project at WID you might be interested in, and for which we are asking your help! The World Institute on Disability is working with the Metropolitan Transportation Commission to improve the transportation system for people with disabilities In the San Francisco Bay Area.

The Transportation Resilience, Accessibility and Climate Sustainability (TRACS) initiative is researching transportation for people with disabilities in the nine counties surround the SF bay, including Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, Napa, San Francisco, San Mateo, Santa Clara, Solano & Sonoma. TRACS is aiming to maximize independence and quality of life, as well as improve safety and resilience for disasters and climate change impacts.

Join a TRACS Focus Group!

TRACS will include 3 (three) focus groups in the Bay Area to understand the experiences and insights of members of the disability community. For our focus groups, we are reaching out especially to those who are likely to have experiences and good ideas to share about transportation access. We'll provide snacks and participants will receive gift cards!

Do you have a disability, are you a family member of someone with disability, or do you support people with disabilities in your work? Do you have experience and ideas about navigating the Bay Area – whether on public transit, paratransit, ride-sharing, a personal vehicle, or other means? We want to hear from you!

The focus groups will happen over the next several months, although exact dates and locations aren't set. If you are interested in participating, please message Marsha or Alex at the emails below and we will get back to you with more info.

You can even download our Focus Group flyer and spread the word – just send it to friends or print it and post in your building!

Please also forward this email to others who might be interested. We appreciate your help.

Thanks!
