We're pleased to release our new soap packaging for our standard boxed soaps. They now have a little peep hole where you can see the colour of the soap and breathe in the gorgeous scent. We've been working on these for a while and it's so nice to see them rolling out onto the shelves.
The boxes are made from 100% recycled post-consumer material and have a paper label. They're biodegradable and compostable, perfect for our eco-conscious customers.
Our new labels feature the new design that we've rolled out to all our other products over the past few months, and highlight the essential oils, the main ingredients and a code number so it will be easier for you to pick your favourites from the lineup.
Our old boxes are still available until they run out, so both versions are listed on our website. The soaps in the older packaging are now discounted and you'll find them on our sale page.

Other soap changes
A new soap on the block: We have added a Scent Free Bar to the Goat's Milk Soap range. We always had the unscented Nanny Goat Soap, but we've been asked many times for a more 'grown-up' version so it now comes in the standard box size.
We try hard to cater to the special needs of clients with sensitivities. The bar you choose will depend on your particular sensitivity.
a) If you're simply avoiding scent and want a gentle, natural soap bar for body choose G7 Scent Free.
b) If you are allergy prone and need to avoid potential allergens such as nut oils AND scent choose O1 Olive Leaf SCENT-FREE or O2 Manuka Honey · Goat's Milk [SCENT-FREE].

Melissa has been working hard in the lab making up some exciting new formulations that we're hoping to announce to you soon. So much thought and research goes into every single ingredient. She's been doing lots of research on essential oils and hydrosols - check out the bookshelf!
Since the last newsletter, we received another 25mm of rain, which has greened up some of the grass and is cheering us a little. It's still not enough for any runoff or much growth before the winter frosts, but it is certainly welcome.

The Washpool Difference
Washpool is a small rural soaperie in Ballandean, Queensland. We believe in being small enough to listen and being big enough to deliver. We believe in hand made and we take pleasure in providing meaningful employment to people living in our rural community.
We take a minimalist approach to handcrafting our soap bars. Wholesome ingredients, purposefully selected. We believe that health comes first and beauty follows. Our clients value authenticity, simplicity and purity.
Wherever possible, we choose to source our ingredients locally, often direct from the growers. When we purchase ingredients from further afield we place great emphasis on using ethical, organic, fair trade and sustainably produced raw ingredients. Our packaging is biodegradable, recycled and recyclable where possible.
Our products include cold pressed edible oils,butters and milks, extracts, infusions, activated and whole botanicals along with clays, honey, fruit and vegetables. Basically, ingredients you can recognise, most of which are edible.
