Our season comes full circle as we reprise this powerful work by composer Craig Hella Johnson recounting the brutal murder of Matthew Shepard, a gay college student in Laramie, Wyoming. Johnson weaves together blues, rock and roll, gospel, and lullaby to reflect the universality of Matthew's story. The UCONN Chamber Singers, conducted by Jamie Spillane, will join CONCORA to commemorate the twentieth anniversary of Matthew's death, as well as the legacy of love and acceptance that arose from the events of October 1998.
