Over the next few newsletters, I will be sharing a few tips I have learned over the years that have helped me to embrace the role of leadership with a joyful heart.
The first one is BE INTENTIONAL. Work on building trusting relationships with one another.

Here are two easy ways to do this:
- Give members a voice: Share highs and lows during meetings or after events
- Nurture spiritual needs: Set aside time in each meeting invest in each other's spiritual growth. Read Scripture and pray each time you meet.

Carolyn Avery

Carolyn Avery is a Christian clown from NC and a 2018 National Scholarship recipient. When she was asked to help start a puppet ministry that would be professional enough to draw people in while pointing to Christ-centered to present the Gospel, she came to FCP in need of training. |
|
|
|
While she was thrilled to receive a scholarship, she was also nervous about the requirement to share her ministry with the conference during the Ministry Slam. “As a newer clown in training, I have never performed solo in public in any capacity. Performing a solo skit provided an opportunity to “step-out” of my shell and comfort zone. SLAM was a memorable experience that I will never forget.”

We hosted a free virtual workshop this past Sunday with Christian clown and mime Barb Field. We have had people from across the country (and even India) tune in to explore simple and fun ideas for puppeteers, Sunday school teachers, clowns and beyond to share the Gospel no matter where they are.
