Working together for a healthy,
connected catchment.
Hi friends, members and supporters!

We've listed a bunch of great upcoming events below.

We're also asking for your help. Our local wildlife would be asking if it could! As you've probably already heard, the State Government is inviting submissions for the proposal to clear 5.4 ha of koala habitat for an extension of facilities at the Belmont Shooting Complex. We would love it if you could make a submission to help protect the Belmont Koala Forest.

Please make your submission here (once there, scroll to bottom of page and choose 'Belmont Shooting Complex'). The deadline is Tuesday 30th April. Your submission, which does not need to be long or detailed, is extremely valuable to wildlife and the community, now and into the future.

Nest boxes thanks to Griffith electorate grant

Many people passing through Brady Bushlands last week saw B4C busy at work installing nest boxes!

As part of the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science - the Stronger Communities program, 24 fauna nest boxes are being installed in Brady Bushlands. These boxes are designed for various native species including Rainbow Lorikeets, Scaly Breasted Lorikeets, Pale Headed Rosellas and Squirrel Gliders. They are being installed at the dizzying heights of up to 9m, thanks to our new 9m extension ladder! You'll be able to follow this project and check out which of our hollow dwelling Australia natives move into these boxes by using the hashtag #BradyBushlandBoxes (on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook).

You can also help provide habitat for native animal species by joining your local BCC Habitat Brisbane Bushcare Group, including the local Brandon Road Bushcare Group (Runcorn).
Please sign the petition and make a submission
Say NO to the clearing of 5.4 hectares of bushland in the Belmont Koala Forest. These bushlands are critical habitat and form part of a vital fauna movement corridor.

2. Provide a submission to the government
The government is inviting submissions and the deadline is 30 April. Make a submission online here (once there, scroll to bottom of the page to see the 'Belmont Shooting Complex' link). Even a paragraph is fine and it's a quick and easy process.

Submission guidance: We have prepared this page for those who want some guidance with their submission or to view B4C's submission.
