Don't miss the PTSA General Meeting and Sweets & Swings

Join us on April 23 at 6 p.m. for the PTSA General meeting. After the meeting, stay for the Sweets and Swings concert. The ECMS Jazz Band and Wheeler Jazz band will join together for a concert, with lots of sweets (cookies, cupcakes) etc. to enjoy (for free) while watching the concert.
 

Donate to the ECMS clinic

The ECMS clinic is in need of bottled water and snack size ziploc bags. Please drop donations off at the office or clinic. 
 

Preorder your yearbooks for $35

Its time to order yearbooks for only $35. They will go up to $40 once they arrive (with limited supply). Please put the payment in the white payment envelope in the school safe (near the front office). 
 

ECMS Write Right Invitational

Let’s help students with innovative writing strategies to improve writing skills and learn new writing techniques. Prompts will be provided for all genres of writing, (informational, argumentative, and narrative writing) with editing, revision assistance and feedback provided. Sign-up on the ECMS website by grade level for April 13 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Let’s improve our writing and improve our performance!

 

Calling all volunteers

We would love your help in the REP store! Sign up today.  On April 23, May 3 and May 10 we will also need extra help as we will be selling Mother’s Day gifts to the students. If you have anything you would like to donate to the REP store, please label and deliver it to the front office.Thank you for your help!
 

ECMS Scholarship

Each spring, East Cobb Middle School PTSA awards one college scholarship to a graduating Cobb County high school senior. The scholarship is awarded to a former ECMS student who has achieved academic excellence and who has been involved in community service during his or her high school years.

Four students from the Magnet Program at Wheeler High School competed against 34 college teams at the Emory DataFest and won Best Overall for their analysis of a big data problem.

Wheeler's Science Spectrum Summer Camp

Rising 7th - 9th: Wheeler is once again hosting Science Spectrum camp this summer from June 10 - 14, 2019, 9:00am - 3:00pm daily.

Designed for rising 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students who have an interest in science and engineering. This five day camp will offer students the opportunity to explore an array of science and engineering fields including Robotics, Chemistry, Forensics,Biotechnology, and Engineering. Learn more.

Camp Invention hosted by Sedalia Park

Calling all rising 7-9th graders: Do you want to be a student leader at Camp Invention this summer? (hosted at Sedalia Park) Your child can be a role model for younger inventors. The Leaders-in-Training program invites 7th to 9th graders to participate in Camp Invention® in a whole new way. They’ll guide children through exciting STEM activities during the week of a local camp program, encouraging creativity and hands-on fun while building their leadership and goal-setting abilities.

Waves Summer Music Camp Registration is open

Are you looking for a awesome summer camp for your student?
ECMS is offering team building, lots of social activities, soccer, football, ultimate frisbee, movie day, SuperHero Day, and a host of music electives including Jazz, World Drumming, Guitar, Large and Small Ensembles. We even have a beginner track for rising 6th graders who want to get a jumpstart on playing their instrument. This camp is for rising 6th through rising 9th grade students. Register your student today. 

Cost is $125 for the week from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. each. 
Online payment and registration begins Jan. 28, 2019
