Sharing Resources and Improving Access

A University Libraries team won the President's Commission on Disability Issues Unit Service Award for its work to improve services for users with visual impairments, most notably by providing PDFs (in a wide range of languages) of articles or book chapters that are searchable and machine-readable.

Starting the Conversation

A worldwide movement for social change, the Human Library is designed to build a positive framework for conversations that can challenge stereotypes and prejudices for dialogue.
Volunteers serve as human "books" to be checked out for 20-minute conversations.The Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library at The Clarice will host the event on Maryland Day, April 27.
