Check us out on Channel 11 WPIX!!

Hey, we're famous!!
Erev Passover while we were getting ready to distribute tons of Matzoh, host dozens of guests and getting rid of our chometz, we had a film crew from Channel 11 WPIX Morning Show with a reporter shooting "Prepping for Passover".

There were 3 segments, 3 intros and a recorded longer segment that was taped.  We were so glad to bring awareness to the Mitzvahs of Passover to thousands through our good deeds and hard work within our community.

Some of our Hebrew school children showed up to be on T.V. showing Jewish continuity - a true testament to Jewish pride we instill in the children!!

We are very proud that our work has generated such a positive response - thank you to all who participate, sponsor and partner in our great work in growing our community reach. Please help us continue our good deeds by donating here.

Have a wonderful rest of your Pesach - see our Passover Tzedakah, (charity appeal) and "Moshiach Dinner" info below!

Once again, we invite you to take part in one of the most special, mystical dates on the Jewish Calendar - the Eigth Day of Passover, which is charachterized by the special dinner called the Moshiach Feast.

About two hundred and fifty years ago, as the time for Mashiach drew closer, the Baal Shem Tov instituted a custom which underlines the connection between the Redemption and the Eighth Day of Pesach: on that day he would partake of Moshiach’s Seudah, the festive meal of Moshiach.

It is an informal, yet highly inspirational & delicious dinner with singing, stories, Torah thoughts and 4 traditional cups of wine (like the Seder!), all in the spirit of Moshiach's imminent arrival.
We would love for you to join us, 7:00pm  @ our Chabad House located @ 82 Forsythia Ln., Jericho, NY 11753, for a wonderful evening as we send off the Passover holiday with a bang!

- A Reflection of Mashiach -

The Eighth Day of Pesach is traditionally associated with our hopes for the coming of Moshiach. For this reason, the Haftorah read on that day contains many prophecies which refer to the Era of the Redemption. Among the best-known of these: “The wolf will dwell with the lamb, the leopard will lie down with a young goat” and, “He will raise a banner for the nations and gather in the exiles of Israel."

Ma'os Chittim
- An important cause that needs your support!!

Let others experience the freedom of Pesach!!

"Ma'os Chitim" refers to the centuries old custom of gathering wheat to provide the poor with matzoh and other items for the observance of Pesach.

Literally - Ma'os Chittim is "money for wheat". This charitable giving of Ma'os Chittim goes to help people pay for all of necessities of making Passover. Included in that is the cost of Matzoh, Wine, Kosher for Passover food, as well as clothing for the Holiday. It is seen as an obligation even after one has given their annual charitable giving, and is thematically related to the idea of experiencing Freedom on Passover.

We have already distributed over 50 pounds of MATZOH this year alone!

In 1967, the Lubavitcher Rebbe wrote in a public letter to all the Jewish people around the world, "In the Haggadah we read, "The Torah speaks of four sons: One is wise, one is wicked, one is simple and one does not know how to ask." In our generation, however, we also have a "fifth son" -- the Jewish child who isn't even at the seder! Our task is to go seek out these sons and daughters and bring them to the Passover table."

This will be the 9th year of MiYaD distributing Shmura Matzoh within the community.  Please help us make a difference again this year.  I assure you that you would be surprised to know about the elderly or people going "without" right here in your local community who appreciate our help, in addition to those who do not even celebrate Passover.  Our goal is reach out to them, create Jewish awareness and to help them - spiritually and materially.

MiYaD does NOT charge for any of our holiday campaigns or services.
Please help us make this Passover special - donate generously to our Ma'os Chittim fund.
