Now you can unlock Metro Bikes with your smartphone! 📱
Once you sign up for a Metro Bike Share pass, be sure to download the Metro Bike Share app. In addition to a registered TAP card, Metro Bike Share passholders can now unlock both Smart and Classic Metro Bikes with the Metro Bike Share app and the partner app, BCycle. Just use the station map in the app to unlock a bike!
Mobile app bike checkout will work for both Smart Metro Bikes (Westside) and Classic Metro Bikes (DTLA, Central LA, Port of LA). Don't forget that you will need to purchase a Metro Bike Share pass online and download both the Metro Bike Share app and the BCycle app to access this feature.

Free Rides on Bike to Work Day!

The National Bike to Work Day celebration is on Friday, May 17. Once again this year, Metro and many other transportation agencies throughout the county traditionally mark the Thursday before (May 16) with free rides.
Be the workplace hero and get your co-workers and boss to commute with Metro Bike Share on Thursday, May 16!
Metro Bike Share will be hosting THREE pop-ups to support morning commuters on Bike to Work Day. Find the team at the following Metro Bike Share stations from 6AM to 9AM:
- Union Station West Portal
- 7th & Flower
- Palms & National
We'll see you on your commute. Oh, and keep your eye on your inbox for the special Bike to Work Day promotion to get free rides on May 16!

You're Invited to the Bike to Work Week Bike Bus Group Ride!
|
|
Make your morning commute fun and social. Grab your helmets, tell your friends and co-workers, and join us Friday morning on May 17 for an early morning commuter bike "bus" starting at the Westlake/MacArthur Park bike share station. We'll be finishing the ride at Grand Central Market for breakfast, morning coffee, and socializing before work!
Our group will meet at the Westlake/MacArthur Park Metro Bike Share station at 6:45AM. Want to join the group but missed the start? Keep an eye on our social media to follow the group and join the bike bus at any of the following stops:
- MacArthur Park (Start): Westlake/MacArthur Park Metro Bike Share Station
- 7th Street / Metro Center Station: 7th & Flower Station
- Pershing Square: Olive & 5th Station
- Grand Central Market (End): Broadway & 3rd Station
