<<First Name>>,

Please join Towerside on Monday, April 29th at Surly Brewery and continue to help us shape the Twin Cities first Innovation District into an inviting place and a replicable model of 21st century urban redevelopment.

We invite your boldest ideas and creative approaches. We will offer inspiration, our progress, and a path forward to the paradigm shift we all know is necessary. Towerside is committed to demonstrating the best in equity, resilience, and climate protection–because if not here and now, then when and where? But, none of it will be possible without you.

All of our work is defined by the collective impact that we can make by coming together in community. Together, we are the makers, doers, tinkerers, leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and lifelong learners who can realize one of the most compelling and challenging opportunities Minneapolis and Saint Paul will have for generations. Join this community of change makers and add your voice by engaging with Towerside’s Board of Directors and board candidates, partners, staff, and each other.

Breakouts will set priorities and outcomes in Towerside focus areas of equitable economic development, creative placemaking, entrepreneurship & the innovation economy, design, arts & culture, and health & wellbeing.

Towerside is a 370-acre Innovation District in the heart of Minneapolis and Saint Paul’s 3.5-million-person metro area. It extends from from the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis east to the Creative Enterprise Zone in Saint Paul. The district is served by three Green Line LRT Stations, is at the geographic center of the regional interstate highway system, and adjacent to the University’s athletic and bio-discovery facilities. Towerside is the only duly designated innovation district in the Twin Cities. It was formed in 2013 to leverage local assets in the Prospect Park and Saint Anthony Park neighborhoods for community and economic development initiatives that address critical metropolitan challenges including economic opportunity, climate change, and infrastructure. The neighborhood-led revitalization of sizable brownfields and underdeveloped land with critical water, energy, and transportation infrastructure systems is envisioned as a living laboratory for identifying and implementing new approaches to urban redevelopment.
