Dear <<First Name*>>,

I hope all is going well with you. I have a newly completed painting to show you and wanted to share a little bit about a recent trip that I took.

Contemporary Industrialism

This painting, Roundness, explores consumerism and industrialism as well as shape and material. Combining a variety of castoff items, I examine our throwaway consumerist society. This artwork exposes the degradation and decomposition of even the most durable mass produced materials. I also investigate the similarity of round objects in a metaphorical way. The circular objects represent completeness, wellbeing, fate and human interdependency and the dependency on our environment.
Roundness, 24 x 36 inches, paper, cardboard, charcoal, metal, plastic and acrylic paint on wood, 2019

Spain

I am still processing a recent trip to Spain that I took with my family. This whirlwind of exploration in Spanish culture and art was intensely inspiring! Some of the highlights I visited were the Prado Museum, the Sagrada Familia Cathedral, Gaudi’s iconic Park Guell, and the Picasso Museum. Two weeks was not enough time and I hope to go back someday to see everything that I didn’t have time to see.
