This month, we are very happy to welcome the following 3 organisations and 7 individuals to the SCCAN family:
- Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) - (Associate) SCIAF is the official overseas aid and development charity of the Catholic Church in Scotland, providing long term development support and emergency help in 27 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East. We work in Scotland providing development education programmes within schools, parishes and community groups, developing policy responses to issues of global poverty, and advocating for change at the global and national level. Since climate justice is a top priority for SCIAF, we help communities overseas to adapt to the impacts of climate change, and we lobby our national and global leaders to take more action.
- Lower Impact Living (Lil) CIC - (Associate) Our aim is to engage as many people in East Lothian in behaviour change to improve our environment and limit our negative impacts including climate change. Collaboration is vital in this crusade, so the more connected we can all be the better.
- Scottish Community Development Centre (SCDC) - (Associate) We work across Scotland with communities, practitioners and policy makers to build on their skills and ideas when working together in communities. Climate change is a priority among communities we work with as well as a key factor in social justice locally and globally. Being part of SCCAN enables us to connect to this agenda more fully.
PLUS 7 individual members Kate, Lindsay, Harriet, Teri, Federico, Ann and Mhaire (full names not disclosed due to privacy reasons).
Welcome onboard to all!
