Autism, or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), refers to a broad range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication. Autism affects an estimated 1 in 59 children in the United States today.

Autism is a spectrum disorder, each person with autism has a distinct set of strengths and challenges. The ways in which people with autism learn, think and problem-solve can range from highly skilled to severely challenged. Some people with ASD may require significant support in their daily lives, while others may need less support and, in some cases, live entirely independently.

It is often accompanied by sensory sensitivities and medical issues such as gastrointestinal (GI) disorders, seizures or sleep disorders, as well as mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression and attention issues. It can be diagnosed as early as 18 months. Research shows that early intervention leads to positive outcomes later in life for people with autism.

RESPECTING THE SANCTUARY
With the exception of water, there is to be no eating or drinking in the Sanctuary, NO EXCEPTIONS
When inquiring about Baby Dedications please contact the church secretary at the church office.

Agenda items for Council and Business meetings must be submitted One week before the meeting date. New agenda items are no longer accepted from the floor.

It is essential that all POC leadership responsible for any church programs or events, must complete a Church Event Form and deliver the form to the Church Secretary who will forward it to the Church Activity Director. This is important because Pastor insists that all POC associated activities are in line with our church values of being Consistent, Compassionate, and Committed. This is also important so that church resources and membership are effectively used to make our events and programs successful. Failure to submit the Church Event Form might result in an event being cancelled.

You may also write your prayer request and place it in the box in the vestibule our Prayer Warriors are ready, willing and able to assist you. ALL requests are kept confidential.
