Please Forward Me to A Friend!
For me, becoming isn’t about arriving somewhere or achieving a certain aim. I see it instead as forward motion, a means of evolving, a way to reach continuously toward a better self. The journey doesn’t end.” – Michelle O.⚡

Good morning,

I hope you had a great Easter break 🐣! This week we are talking about £££ comparison and how it makes us feel.

Last week, I was in Paris to see Michelle Obama’s talk. The former First Lady sat down with ex-CNN journalist Isha Sesay to discuss a range of topics (motherhood, women, confidence, politics, marriage, career) following the success of her autobiography Becoming last year. She has sold 10m copies so far and the book is on track to “become the most successful memoir in modern publishing history” (The Guardian).

You could feel the good vibes: 10,000 people - mostly women - attended the event, a little bit like a Beyonce concert but without the dancing. Inspiring. Moving. Michelle is humble, funny and strong! Please read her book. She is a real queen 💖. We also read her book with Vestpod bookclub and Victoria wrote a summary, here!

Vestpod Book Club
Becoming by Michelle Obama
"I have been following Emilie, Carmel and the Vestpod events for a few weeks now, and I admire the way in which these women understand money in a way that I don’t. As I told my fellow book clubbers on the night, my main method of financial management is 1)  ignore the outgoings and 2) hope for the best. And contactless definitely doesn’t count."
