ALL About Values!

Last week, Aïda took her Big Kids Club to Sole Foods Street Farm, and the tour of the gardens gave a perfect example for all that we stand for at Buddings. I'll explain:

Instagram let me know it was Earth Day, with reminders from every product and service #thereisnoplanetb, which was great. But at Buddings, we love the world all year long, and we teach environmental mindfulness, especially through our food. So Sole Food's mission: to create connections between humans and the Earth, through food, makes them a perfect fit for a fieldtrip! And the kids LOVED it!

Plus, through her blog post's pictures, and stories <--that's a link to it! - we're thrilled to share details of this amazing organization with you! It's a triple-win!

Our website is also a valuable resource for families, and since Communication is also one of our values, this week, we invite you to take a tour, as many, many, many of the emails we receive are answered on our site.

Especially HOW IT WORKS.

For a daycare, keeping all the kids safe, and having fun is... par for the course! We also keep snacks cleared, keep track of bathrooms, and keep attending families informed on the daily. With so many kids, it's keeping a lot of balls in the air.

And you can help, by reading the blog posts, and keeping up.

For example, did you know food should not come inside the daycare floor space in the hands of children? Other children have allergies. Your child can choke. It makes a mess. Please don't bring food into the daycare play space. Find out where it does go on the blog.

Many, many, many of our blog posts come about as a result of your questions, and those of the nearly 1,500 families who have come before you. Of course we want to hear from you, but please check our blog to see if your questions are answered before you email us.

This week, Sarah provides some of our long-missing How-to's with her two posts, about how to purchase hours, and how to book them. How did we miss that???? Well, it's on there now. Please read.

As the spring season rounds into the last month, with a busy summer ahead, we're very pleased to introduce our newest teacher, Gini Choi, joining us this week at Storybook, and a new gecko, as yet unnamed, who arrived at Broadway. Find Gini, and all the teachers, online, on our Staff Page.

Read on to learn more! Please. :)

Introducing Gini Choi!

With the busy season coming up, and a couple of contracts winding down, we could not be more pleased to have met (and hired!!) Gini Choi. She's a knight in shining intellect, with a bright smile and quick laugh, arriving just when we need her most!

She's doing her training at Storybook this season, and we just know you're going to love her! Find her bio on the blog

Introducing... a gecko

Buddings Daycare is a children's garden filled with live plants and special creatures. The centre pets are part of our curriculum, who often have deep connections for our youngest (human) friends.

When our beloved Gecko the gecko passed away in February, he left a small, reptilian hole in our hearts.
Only then did we learn that "gecko school" was such a common describer, and that "visiting the gecko" could motivate so many!

This weekend, we were so pleased to have been selected to provide a home for a new little lizard (craigslist success!), and we're pleased to introduce him to you! Except... we don't know what to call him... Do you have any ideas?

He's still settling in, but he seems very sweet. He eats crickets, and loves gentle petting... pretty typical leopard gecko stuff :)

We're launching a naming contest on our Facebook page this week, so get your thinking caps on and check out our page to register a nomination or to vote.
