Reflection
Dear Ones,

Happy Easter!

First and foremost... thank you to all who helped make Holy Week at Saint David's a beautiful, faithful and poignant week of worship and community.  Thank you to those who came in early in the week to clean, those who brought food and drink to share on Thursday and Sunday, those who participated in our thirteen services marking Jesus' journey to Jerusalem, his Last Supper, betrayal, conviction, crucifixion and glorious resurrection.  Thank you to those who served on the many guilds and in the services themselves - the flower guild, altar guild, usher guild, acolytes, lectors, clergy and musicians.  I cannot remember such a meaningful Holy Week.

Second... keep the feast! Eastertide is a fifty day feast, dear friends.  So much more than a one day celebration - we are called to feast and celebrate the fundamental truth of our faith for fifty days.  Find ways to shout out your Alleluias, to give thanks, to break bread and celebrate with others.  Open your lives and hearts to new people, relationships, ideas and love.  Practice resurrection as you might practice a sport or musical instrument and see how the feast of Eastertide can change you life for the better.

Alleluia, Christ is risen!
The Lord is risen, indeed. Alleluia!

With love and gratitude,

Kristen
Little Things at Saint David's
+Sandwich Making:
Join us after today’s 10:00 am service for sandwich making. Sandwiches will be donated to SOME, one of our outreach partner organizations.

+Thank you & Reminder.
Thank you to all who picked up an egg and donated CVS, Giant, and Safeway gifts to be given to our mission partner, Friendship Place. We collected a total of $1,275 in gift cards from 42 donors! If you have not yet returned your eggs please do so as soon as possible to the parish office or Christine Parker so that we can distribute our donations.

+St. David’s Men’s Group:
On the first Saturday of each month, we invite the men of St. David’s (and their friends) to
an informal breakfast and brief Bible study. Our next breakfast is Saturday,  May 4th at 9 am at St. David’s. Please RSVP to the Rev. Harvey Bale so that we can get a good count for ordering coffee and breakfast food– and don’t be concerned if you cannot attend every Saturday scheduled. Harvey can be reached at harvey@stdavidsdc.org with any questions.

+Celebrating the Ministry of The Rev. Melesa Skoglund:
Join us for a festive reception following the 10 am service on Sunday, May 5 as we celebrate seminarian Melesa and her family’s final day with us at Saint David’s. We will also be collecting a special purse for Melesa and her family- checks can be dropped off to the office or placed in the offering plate (made out to Saint David’s with  “Melesa” on the memo line). Melesa, Erik, and their son Truett will be moving to Madison, Wisconsin where she will serve as Assistant Priest
at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.

+Tuesday Morning Bible Study (next meeting on Tuesday, May 7):
Please know that we continue to be open to all who are interested in going deeper into scripture with friends. We are using the Disciple program, a well-known and respected program that covers both the Old and New Testaments over the course of 34 sessions.  Though you can drop-in, this study is meant for those who are able and willing to commit to homework and regular attendance (as much as your schedule allows).  Those interested in joining or with questions, please contact Kristen directly.  We meet the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 10 am.

+ Ensemble du Pain Musical Concert:
Join us on Friday, May 17 at 7:00 pm as Ensemble du Pain Musical presents "Our Lady of Czestochowa: Marian Anthems" right here at Saint David’s.
