OPEN DAY - NEXT SATURDAY 27TH APRIL - VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Final Call for volunteers - Next Saturday 27th April - 1.30-4.30pm
Our legendary open day when we showcase our amazing club to visitors and potential members, is just one week away, and as we usually have around 300 visitors, we cannot run the day without your help.
We need more people to meet and greet and show people around the club, as well as competent helms to take visitors sailing.
Safety boat drivers are also in short supply, so please step forward.
Please volunteer to help on one of the teams by emailing Jeremyriley.uk@gmail.com or Jeremy.sumeray@btinternet.com as soon as possible.
We also need you to fly the flag for Papercourt
To ensure as may people as possible are aware of the event, there are five ways to help:
1. Invite your friends and family and neighbours
2. Put up posters on local noticeboards
3. Ask your local school to promote the event
4. Like us on Facebook and share the posts
5. Place the poster on your local facebook community or school sites.
Posters and fliers are available in the lobby at the club, of hit the button below to download. Our Facebook page is on the button at the bottom of the page too.
and lastly -we need you to bring CAKE- home made or bought, we don't mind, but 300 visitors will all be hungry - please deliver to the galley on Saturday morning.
If you have friends or family who would have loved to come next Saturday, but just can't make it, we are offering taster sails on Saturday 18th May - email info@papercourt-sc.org.uk to register

It's back for the summer - our series of evening sails, just for Ladies. There will be helpful instructors on hand if you need some assistance rigging, or getting afloat, and the club boats are available for your use, if you do not have your own. After sailing, the bar will be open, and if it is nice weather, the barbeque might even be lit for you to bring your own sausages.
If you would like more information contact Jane on jane-hayden@outlook.com, and if you can't make this date, the next dates are on the poster below.
A couple of reminders
Now the warmer weather is here, please remember:
Swimming in the lake is not permitted at any time. It is particularly dangerous around the jetties, where boats coming round the ends may not see a head in the water.
By the same token, deliberate capsize is not permitted unless during a training session.
Buoyancy aids must be worn by everyone on the jetties, even if only helping with launching and recovery
Dogs at Papercourt
Who would not want to be rescued by this cute dog, but at Papercourt we have safety boats for that job, so whilst you are welcome to bring your dogs to walk around the lake, dogs are not permitted in the boat park, in the clubhouse, or in front of the clubhouse unless they are assistance dogs. Imagine the chaos if fifty families brought their dogs to the club on a Saturday morning!
