I hope you're having a restful and refreshing holiday.

- forloop Africa has partnered with Opera Payment Platform, Opay, to bring you an event themed The Building Blocks of Architecting Scalable Systems. At this workshop event, the developers at Opay will be sharing how they built a payment platform form the ground up, how to build a cloud-ready application, and Kotlin practicals.
Some speakers on the workshop line-up are Stephan Spasov (DevOps Team Lead, Opay), Duy Huynh (Back-end engineering Team Lead, Opay), and Boris Tiutin (Android Team lead, Opay).

- Google's Android Studio 3.4 has been released after months of development. Some new features include the Resource Manager, for managing your assets as your application becomes more complex, Import Intentions, and more. Read the release notes to find out more.

- GitHub has released Atom 1.37 beta. New features are set to improve pull request experience. Check out the release notes.

- Mozilla has launched Fluent 1.0, a localization package. Find out more here.

- Emacs 26.2 has been released, and with it comes Unicode 11.0 - finally. Check it out.

- The Wordpress Community will be hosting the second edition of WordCamp from the 10th to the 12th of May. This year's program will feature tech talks, practical sessions and workshops, and even a kids camp for children between ages 8 to 16.
