The birth of Tauss Holdings marks ten years of Azimut Yachts Malta and is a consolidation of 28 years of experience that has made the company a leading presence in the luxury yachting sector both locally and on an international platform.
Azimut yachts have become the luxury yacht of choice on the Maltese islands. As with many luxury items on the market this is not solely dependent on the quality of the product per se, but also on the services provided through the lifetime of the product.
Though Azimut Yachts Malta was born with the foundation of Esprit Yachting in 2007, with the arrival of the first Azimut AZ43S, Prima Rossa, the founders of the company had already established themselves in the maritime industry. Their humble beginnings go back to 1990, when Pierre Travers Tauss established Standard Marine, representative of Larsson, and eventually became agents for Suzuki Marine, Nuova Jolly ribs and Varta batteries.
The delivery of over 30 luxury yachts over the years has made Malta one of the most lucrative bases for Azimut | Benetti Group, with more sales per capita to the island than anywhere else worldwide. Over €20 million in sales led the Benetti Group to foster a relationship with Azimut Yachts Malta that would eventually lead to the development of Marina di Valletta, a 250-berth marina that welcomed its first boat in June 2017 and is a joint venture of the Vitelli family (founders of Azimut | Benetti Group), Azimut Yachts Malta, Arrigo Group of Hotels, Joinwell and Tal-Maghtab Construction. Over a very short time it has become Malta’s premier yachting destination.
Founder and director of the company, Pierre Travers Tauss talks about how the company has advanced through the years. “The competitive advantage of the company lies in the complimentary services it offers in the luxury yacht industry. Ten years of Azimut Yachts Malta, and 28 years in the industry, has culminated in the consolidation of services represented by Tauss Holdings and strengthens the company’s position as market leader.”
Expansion is inevitable and the future of Azimut in Malta is looking grander.
