Commercial Fire Alarm Systems Acceptance Testing

Beginning July 1, 2019, the City of Boise will be requiring the NFPA 72 Record of Completion indicating a 100% system test has been completed prior to scheduling the final inspection. Prior to the start of inspection, the Record of Completion, including the record of communications, shall be delivered to the inspector.

If the final testing is not completed prior to inspection and/or if the inspection shows noncompliance, the inspection shall be rescheduled until the fire alarm contractor has verified the system is fully functional. The inspector will test a percentage of the devices, adjusting the total percent required of the test accordingly. Re-inspections are subject to additional inspection fees per the adopted fee schedule.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Assistant Building Official Adele Schaffeld-Griffin at 208-608-7098 or Assistant Fire Marshal Ron Johnson at 208-570-6571.
